Burghound gives 90+ scores to the 2014 selection from Domaines Devillard:

ETIQUETTE LES CIN

2014 Mercurey 1er Cru “Les Cinq”-90pts

“There is noticeably less wood present compared to past vintages…That said, this doesn’t mean there is no wood, merely that it is less evident on the mildly VA-infused nose of cool and airy red cherry, currant, earth and spice aromas. I like the sleek mouth feel of the well-detailed and minerally medium weight flavors that possess solid depth and length… this is certainly attractive.”

Les ruelles 90x72

2014 Mercurey Blanc “La Mission” Monopole-90pts

“Here the expressive nose is both more elegant and more complex with its pretty array of citrus peel, pear, green apple and floral scents. There is once again more volume to the appealingly textured flavors that possess an almost tender mid-palate yet manage to deliver good punch on the stony, pure and well-balanced finale. This should drink well young if desired.”

2014 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru “Terres Blanches” Rouge-90pts

nsg-1er-cru-aux-perdrix

2014 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru “Aux Perdrix”-91pts

“Here the nose flirts with VA on the menthol, earth and liqueur-like dark berry fruit aromas. The impressively concentrated, suave and mouth coating flavors are positively lavish in their richness while offering fine depth and length on the balanced finale. This is also really quite good…”

 Impression

2014 Nuits-St-Georges 1er Cru “8 Ouvrees”-92pts

“While this also has a touch of VA it is all but invisible and probably wouldn’t bother even those particularly sensitive to it though everyone varies in this regard. Once again notes of menthol sit atop the notably ripe dark berry fruit, spice and floral scents. There is outstanding mid-palate concentration to the exceptionally ripe, sappy and opulent middle weight plus flavors that culminate in a dense, firm and powerful finale…this should reward 12 to 15 years of cellaring.”

echezeaux-grand-cru

2014 Echezeaux Grand Cru-92pts

“A highly spiced nose combines pungent aromas of all but concealed notes of VA, menthol and dark cherry liqueur. Once again there is outstanding richness, volume and concentration to the much more powerful flavors that coat the palate on the serious and moderately austere finale.”
