Vinous, April 2016: 2013 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge, Domaine Lou Frejau

Vinous Media Logo
Josh Raynolds of Vinous Media gives the 2013 Chateauneuf-du-Pape Rouge from Domaine Lou Frejau a score of 90 points:

“Vivid ruby. Ripe cherry and blueberry preserve aromas show good clarity, while suggestions of licorice, garrigue and white pepper add complexity. Lush and creamy in texture, offering gently sweet boysenberry liqueur and floral pastille flavors and a touch of smokiness. The smoky quality carries through the persistent finish, which is framed by harmonious tannins. In a forward, fruit-driven style and well suited to drinking on the young-ish side.”
