Fondo Dei Barbera

Fondo Dei Barbera

A micro-estate producing Faro DOC — one of Sicily's rarest appellations — on the hills overlooking the Strait of Messina. Founded by Pietro Barbera in 1961 and revived by his son Claudio in 2003, cultivating just 1.5 hectares.

Perched on the hills overlooking the Strait of Messina, Fondo dei Barbera is a micro-estate producing Faro DOC — one of Sicily's rarest and most historic appellations. Founded by Pietro Barbera in 1961 and revived by his son Claudio in 2003, the estate cultivates just 1.5 hectares of Nerello Mascalese, Nerello Cappuccio, Nocera, and Nero d'Avola at 200 meters above sea level, between the Tyrrhenian and Ionian seas.
