Ian D’Agata of Vinous Media gives top scores to the 2015 offering from Italian producer Tenuta Cavalier Pepe:

coda-back

2015 Irpinia Coda di Volpe Bianco di Bellona-92pts

“Pale bright yellow. Ripe aromas of peach and tropical fruit are complicated by hints of flint and nutmeg. Spicy and clean, displaying lovely purity of ripeness and an almost glyceral texture to the peach and tropical fruit flavors. Finishes long and penetrating, with a firm spine. Outstanding Coda di Volpe Bianca wine.”

greco-back

2015 Greco di Tufo Nestor-91pts

“Golden yellow. Archetypal Greco nose of tropical fruit, ripe yellow peach, smoke and honey. Big, rich and dense, with a chewy tactile quality to the yellow fruit and sweet spices. Finishes long with an enticing flinty quality. Lovely Greco di Tufo.”

falanghina-back-lila

2015 Falanghina Beneventano Lila-91pts

“Pale yellow. High-pitched, musky aromas of quinine and lavender complicate pear and apple on the nose. Fresh, broad and clean; a tightly coiled impression gives this lovely Falanghina a penetrating character. The clinging finish of minty herbs and fresh orchard fruit shows both precision and delicacy. Much more serious Falanghina wine than usual, as this variety is most often used to give only simple wines of early appeal.”
