The short version: this website tells the trade about the wines we import. We collect very little: what you send us through the contact form and basic, cookie-free visitor statistics. We do not sell your information, and we do not sell wine to consumers. Questions? Email info@apwineimports.com.

Privacy Policy

This policy covers apwineimports.com, run by AP Wine Imports ("we", "us"), 56 W 45th St, New York, NY 10036.

Information we collect

  • What you send us. When you use the contact form we receive your name, email address, company or restaurant (if you give it) and your message. If you email or call us, we receive whatever you include.
  • Basic technical information. Like most websites, our server records each visit's IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. We use this to keep the site running and secure.
  • Visitor statistics. We use Umami to count page views. It records the pages viewed and general details such as device, browser and approximate location (country or city). It does not use cookies and does not follow you to other websites.

We do not ask for payment details, and visitors cannot create accounts. (Our staff sign in to edit the site; that sign-in uses a cookie that only they receive.)

How we use it

We use what you send us to reply to you, to handle trade inquiries and orders, and to keep normal business records. We use technical information and visitor statistics to run, secure and improve the site. We do not use your information for advertising.

Who we share it with

We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share it only:

  • with companies that help us run the site and our business, such as our hosting, email and form providers, who may use it only to provide that service;
  • with distributors or producers we work with, when that is needed to answer your inquiry (for example, to tell you where to buy a wine in your state); and
  • when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

Some pages load files from other companies, which then receive your IP address and browser details under their own privacy policies: Google Fonts on every page, Google reCAPTCHA on the contact form (to block spam), and Amazon Web Services for some images. Links to Provi, Instagram, Facebook, X, LinkedIn and other sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Cookies and Do Not Track

The public website does not set cookies of its own, and we do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Google reCAPTCHA on the contact page may set a cookie to tell people from bots.

We do not allow advertising networks on the site. Google, through reCAPTCHA and Google Fonts, may collect information about your activity over time and across different websites; no other company is allowed to do so on our site. Because we do not track visitors across websites ourselves, we do not change anything when your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal.

Your choices

You can ask us to see, correct or delete the personal information you have sent us by emailing info@apwineimports.com. We will reply within a reasonable time and may need to confirm who you are. Depending on where you live, you may have other rights under your state's law; we will honor them where they apply. We do not sell personal information, but you can still send an opt-out of sale request (for example, under Nevada law) to the same address.

Security and how long we keep it

We use reasonable safeguards to protect the information we hold, but no website or email system is perfectly secure. We keep messages and business records only as long as we need them to deal with your inquiry, run our business and meet legal requirements. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting.

Children

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has sent us their information, email us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will post the new version here and update the effective date at the top. If a change is significant, we will also note it on this page for a reasonable period.

Terms of Service

By using apwineimports.com you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.

We do not sell wine to consumers

AP Wine Imports is a licensed importer and wholesaler, and this site gives information about the wines we import for the wine trade: retailers, restaurants and distributors. We do not sell wine or other alcohol to consumers, through this site or otherwise. We sell only to licensed businesses, as each state's laws allow. Nothing on this site is an offer to sell. Which wines, vintages and prices are available depends on the state and the distributor, and can change at any time. Ordering through Provi or our distributors is covered by their own terms.

Product information

We try to keep wine and producer information accurate, but vintages, labels, technical details, tasting notes, reviews and maps change, and some of them come from producers and other sources. Maps are approximate. All of it is provided for information only and may contain errors.

Content and trademarks

The text, photographs, logos, maps and documents on this site belong to AP Wine Imports, the producers we represent, or other owners, and are protected by copyright and trademark law. Our trade customers and partners may use our tech sheets, sell sheets and bottle images to promote and sell the wines we import. For any other use, please ask us first.

Using the site

Please do not misuse the site. For example, do not try to break into it or disrupt it, overload it with automated requests, or use it for anything unlawful.

Links to other sites

Links to other websites, including Provi, our distributors, producers and social networks, are provided for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for them.

No warranty and limitation of liability

The site is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, AP Wine Imports is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the site, or for relying on information on it.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York. Any dispute about them or the site will be handled in the state or federal courts located in New York County, New York.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms by posting a new version here with a new date. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
