Château Brane-Cantenac

Château Brane-Cantenac is a classified growth of Margaux (1855).
The estate was first established in the 18th century by the Gorce family, and its wines were among the most highly regarded in the Médoc well before the 1855 classification. The Lurton family took over in the early 1920s, and Henri Lurton has led it since 1992.
Its 75 hectares lie on sandy gravel soils with large pebbles, with 18 hectares farmed organically as of 2016. The wines are Château Brane-Cantenac, Baron de Brane and Margaux de Brane.
