Château Cantemerle
Château Cantemerle, in Macau at the gateway to the Médoc, is a Fifth Growth of the 1855 classification (Haut-Médoc). It has belonged to the SMA BTP mutual insurance group since 1981, and Laure Canu has led it since 2021.
Ninety-eight hectares of vines, with an average age of about 40 years, grow on deep siliceous gravel within a 200-hectare estate that includes nearly 100 hectares of woodland, parkland and meadow. The grand vin ages 12 months in French oak (35% new), and Les Allées de Cantemerle is the second wine.
