Château D'Issan

Château d'Issan, in Cantenac in the middle of the Margaux appellation, is a Third Growth of the 1855 classification.

Its history runs from a 12th-century fiefdom, La Mothe-Cantenac, through the Essenault family, who owned it from 1575 and renamed it Issan, to the Cruse family, who have owned it since 1945. Emmanuel Cruse has led it since 1998, and Françoise and Jacky Lorenzetti joined forces with the family in 2012.

The vineyard grows on gravel mounds and alluvial hills with vines averaging 35 years old. The wines are Château d'Issan, Blason d'Issan and Moulin d'Issan.
