Château Fombrauge

Château Fombrauge, in Saint-Christophe-des-Bardes, is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé and one of the region's oldest estates: its name comes from 'Fons Brogiera', and the first vintage is recorded as 1599.
A 17th-century manor house there was originally the cloister of a Carthusian monastery. It belongs to Bernard Magrez, the sixth owner family in succession. The vineyard grows on clay and limestone with Fronsac molasse.
