Château Larrivet Haut-Brion

Château Larrivet Haut-Brion, in Pessac-Léognan, has carried its current name since 1929; the Féret guide ranked it a 'cru exceptionnel' of Graves in 1898.
Philippe and Christine Gervoson took over in 1987, and the estate now has about 70 hectares of vines on gravelly terraces. Each parcel is aged separately, in amphorae, foudres, barrels or concrete eggs: 16 months for the red and 11 months for the white. The red is 50% Merlot, 45% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc.
