Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande
Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande, a Second Growth of Pauillac, was founded in 1689 by Pierre de Mazure de Rauzan. It took its name a few years later when his daughter Thérèse brought it as her dowry to Jacques de Pichon Longueville, first President of the Parliament of Bordeaux.
After the death of Baron Joseph in 1850 it was divided among his five children, and Virginie, who married Count Henri de Lalande, took over her share and left her mark on the estate.
The estate's site describes 102 hectares in more than 100 plots in the southern part of Pauillac, on gravel over a clay subsoil, with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot.
